2016 Primary School Career Initiative

Leocata’s Transport hosted its annual Lions Club Career initiative inviting several students from Tatura Primary School the opportunity to learn about the transport industry and the career opportunities within the industry.

Adrian Leocata General Manager at Leocata’s Transport spent the morning with the students and Lions Club representatives explaining in detail the operation at the Tatura and Nagambie sites, introducing the students to some of the staff and allowing the students to view the operational side of the business first hand.

Leocata’s Transport welcomed the opportunity to showcase their business to the next generation and to highlight to them the diverse career opportunities within the transport industry. The students were encouraged to contact Adrian if they had any further queries about the business in the future.

Leocata's News - Harston Primary School visitTEN students from Harston Primary School were given the opportunity to visit four major businesses in the region to get a taste of industry, with students saying just how much they enjoyed their visit to Leocata’s Transport in Tatura.

As part of the visit, students were given a tour of the site and learned about the business’ operations, with one student in particular coming away hoping to secure himself a job at the transport company when he is old enough to do so.

Harston Primary School student, Jordan Carrick said, “We visited Leocata’s on Thursday, August 13, 2015. It was great to see what they do and how they do it.

“When I’m older, I would like to work at their business and fix their trucks.

“I want to thank Joe and Adrian for showing us around. Lots of us like how they run their business. It was a good day.”

Sharon Leocata from Leocata’s Transport said, “Visits such as these are such an important part of our involvement with the community.

“We are proud of our achievements and are happy to encourage young people into the industry as sometimes media portrays a bad image of transport.

“We need young people to see the good side of the industry and just how it has improved. There are now so many more training options and we would like to encourage young people to pursue this as a career option. We know that these type of tours can open the eyes of our young ones and they did really enjoy and appreciate it.”
